It also improves my ability to express myself in general.
It's something I find fun and also really useful in solidifying new vocabulary from the videos I watch.
My Skype tutor (a fantastic professional teacher I originally found on iTalki) corrects any errors in my writing on the shared Google doc, and suggests ways to phrase certain things in a more natural or advanced way, and then we discuss the topic casually, sharing our opinions, etc. If you decide to work on your writing more explicitly moving forward, I can suggest an activity I find enjoyable: I watch YouTube videos, usually documentaries or televised debate programs, on a subject that interests me (a recent example: ) and then I write a brief summary of the video followed by my opinion on the topic. I think it's quite kind of you to offer to pass the book on. I'm somewhere around a high B2, hoping to work toward sitting the C1 sometime in 2022. Just DM me.Ĭongratulations! Currently reading the second one in the series. Some felt a little above level due to obscure vocab but I could generally follow the plot. Some were good but some were kind of boring. It's a number of short stories all built around the title phrase. Wouldn't really recommend this one to be honest. This book, and the series that it comes from, is perhaps the 'gold standard' for anyone sitting a DEFL exam.
